A ramp for Mary: volunteers and tools needed
Mary uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Mary has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Mary can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Mary's family will cook lunch for the team.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Love from Raleigh
rooting for you, Atieno. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Rohini so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
I hope things turn around soon. Thinking of Thika.
Stay strong, Atieno. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Blessings.
