A ramp for Lincoln: volunteers and tools needed
Lincoln uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States1,533 views
Lincoln has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Lincoln can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Lincoln's family will cook lunch for the team.

Keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like
sending good thoughts. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Thinking of San Diego
it takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of San Diego.
praying for you, Kennedy. Hope you get there. I have a 6 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Blessings.
thanks for sharing this. I hope things turn around soon. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
