A ramp for Kumar: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Mumbai.
๐ฎ๐ณ Maharashtra, India1,016 views
Kumar has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Kumar can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Kumar's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Hope it all works out, Nithya. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
Keep going, Nithya. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
sending good thoughts. Looking forward to the next update. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best
