A ramp for Ki-tae: volunteers and tools needed
Ki-tae uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇸 California, United States1,127 views
Ki-tae has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Ki-tae can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Ki-tae's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thanks for being kind about this.
