A ramp for Khalid: volunteers and tools needed
Help Khalid regain independence: a simple ramp build.
馃嚝馃嚪 Nice, Provence-Alpes-C么te d'Azur, France232 views
Khalid has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Khalid can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Khalid's family will cook lunch for the team.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
- effort
- one weekend
- format
- In person in Nice
- skills
- carpentry, measuring, power tools

Sending good thoughts, Rima. I hope things turn around soon. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.
wishing you the best, Rima. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Put this on a community board in New Orleans this morning.
Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 13 people at work
