A ramp for Kaylee: volunteers and tools needed

Kaylee uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Kaylee has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Kaylee can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Kaylee's family will cook lunch for the team. Thanks for being kind about this.

  • Hope it all works out. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Greetings from Ciudad de México

    • So sorry you're going through this, Alyssa. Hope this works out for you. My neighbor in Cardiff donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Newcastle.

      • Looking forward to the next update. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best!
