A ramp for Hayato: volunteers and tools needed
Help Hayato regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇯🇵 Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan771 views
Hayato has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Hayato can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Hayato's family will cook lunch for the team.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope the doctors have good news. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Greetings from Magelang
Sending good thoughts. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Sent it to 10 people at work.
best of luck. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. All the best.
So sorry you're going through this, Mai. Hope the doctors have good news. My neighbor in Casablanca donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Tokyo
