A ramp for Guilherme: volunteers and tools needed

Guilherme uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Guilherme has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Guilherme can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Guilherme's family will cook lunch for the team. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

  • take care. Wishing Guilherme a smooth procedure and a full recovery. Don't give up. Thinking of São Paulo!

    • Wishing you the best. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Love from Bakersfield.

      • Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Thinking of São Paulo
