A ramp for George: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Takoradi.
🇬🇠Takoradi, Western, GhanaPosted Oct 1, 2026949 views
George has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment George can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and George's family will cook lunch for the team.
Glad we found this place.

Praying for you. Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Blessings.
Thanks for sharing this, Mabel. Hope the doctors have good news. My neighbor in Manchester donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Manchester.
Sending good thoughts, Mabel. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Blessings.
