A ramp for Florence: volunteers and tools needed
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Mwanza.
🇹🇿 Mwanza, Mwanza, Tanzania169 views
Florence has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Florence can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Florence's family will cook lunch for the team.
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

praying for you. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Santos.
Thanks for sharing this. Hope you get there. Wish I lived closer to Chattogram so I could bring a meal. All the best.
Hope things get better soon, Mwanaisha. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Mwanza.
Hope things get better soon, Mwanaisha. Get well soon. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
