A ramp for Aravind: volunteers and tools needed
Aravind uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India1,022 views
Aravind has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Aravind can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Aravind's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

best of luck, Revathi. Looking forward to the next update. After 6 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
Keep going. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless.
rooting for you. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Revathi. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I'll check back for the next update. Take care.
