Apostolos has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Apostolos can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Apostolos's family will cook lunch for the team. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

  • thanks for sharing this. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I'll check back for the next update. All the best!

    • Keep going, Lefteris. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best!

You're not alone, Lefteris. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together.

        • Stay strong, Lefteris. I hope things turn around soon

          • Thinking of you and your family, Lefteris. Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Dwarka so I could bring a meal. God bless.
