A ramp for Angel: volunteers and tools needed
Help Angel regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐บ๐ธ Dayton, Ohio, United States303 views
Angel has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Angel can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Angel's family will cook lunch for the team.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Stay strong. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Lviv.

hope it all works out, Wesley. Hope this works out for you. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like.
So sorry you're going through this, Wesley. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. God bless
