A rainwater harvesting system for the Union vacant lot: help our neighbors in London
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Union vacant lot that will serve 151 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 17 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $620, and the remaining cost is $1,650.
It will serve about 151 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.

• Materials: $1,310
