Davao City
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Baobab bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 149 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $440 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Tools hire and delivery: $85 Thank you for reading my story.

Updates from Rolando

  1. Small update. $132 so far, the first invoice got paid this week.

  2. Update from Davao City: I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts. We're at 18% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($57 in total) I made the first payment toward materials. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
