A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Rosario

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,000. It will serve about 387 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,000 goes: • Materials: $760 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $90 • Tools hire and delivery: $110 If you're reading this, thank you.
