For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $400. It will serve about 175 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $400 goes: • Materials: $240 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $60 • Tools hire and delivery: $45 Glad we found this place.
