A rainwater harvesting system: a volunteer-led effort in Bristol
A community-led a rainwater harvesting system at the Cedar community hall that will serve 205 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Cedar community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $700.
It will serve about 205 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $700 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $165
• Permits and inspections: $160
• Tools hire and delivery: $375
