Breda
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Pioneer Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,450. It will serve about 590 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $3,450 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $280 • Materials: $2,800 • Tools hire and delivery: $370 Thank you for reading my story. - Noor
