A playground for the old Lotus bus depot: help our neighbors in La Plata

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 387 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $550 goes: • Materials: $410 • Permits and inspections: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen. - Jorge
