A playground for the Jacaranda vacant lot: help our neighbors in Nairobi

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $750. It will serve about 344 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $750 goes: • Materials: $600 • Permits and inspections: $30 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $80 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
