A playground for Lotus Primary School: help our neighbors in Columbus
Volunteers in Columbus are raising $3,250 for a playground at Lotus Primary School.
🇺🇸 United States4,018 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Lotus Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,250.
It will serve about 312 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,250 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Tools hire and delivery: $510
Glad we found this place.

hope things get better soon, Riley. More neighborhoods should do this. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
Thinking of you and your family, Riley. More neighborhoods should do this. We're a small family in Rio de Janeiro but we're thinking of you.
Sending good thoughts. I hope things turn around soon. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
looking forward to the next update. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Newport.
Keep going, Riley. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did
Wishing you the best, Riley. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Columbus.
