A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Jakarta
Volunteers in Jakarta are raising $350 for a playground at the Sycamore community hall.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $350.
It will serve about 296 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $350 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $35
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Materials: $255
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
