A playground: a volunteer-led effort in Dundee

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a playground - we need $2,300 for materials.

Dundee
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,300. It will serve about 129 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,300 goes: • Materials: $1,600 • Permits and inspections: $120 • Safety equipment and signage: $340 • Tools hire and delivery: $240 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Rubel

You're not alone, Rubel. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
