My husband Luca has been accepted for treatment at Toronto Transplant Centre in Toronto, starting on Wednesday in September. We live 545 km away in a town in the north, and hotel costs would use up what we have set aside for the treatment itself. We're looking for a room, granny flat or short-term rental within about 30 minutes of the hospital, for 6 weeks. Two of us would stay: Luca and me. We can contribute $60 a week and cook for the household if you'd like. Luca will have some immune precautions, so a clean, smoke-free place would be ideal. A kitchen is a bonus. Thank you. Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

        • Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. All the best
