My nephew, Lucas, is 16 and in Grade 11. Lucas loves school but physics has been a struggle since the school was closed during the move. The board exam is in November. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in San Jose or online, for about twenty weeks. Lucas is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in physics, you could change the course of Lucas's year. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Thinking of you, Cynthia. I hope things turn around soon. I'm in retail myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.

    • Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I hope November is when things finally get easier.

          • Wishing you the best, Cynthia. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
