A pair of hearing aids for Mirjam: help me move freely
Help Mirjam get a pair of hearing aids so She can attend work interviews.
Anywhere in the world2,403 views
I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at the Haarlem Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,850.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,850 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $2,400
• Fitting and training sessions: $180
• First-year servicing plan: $270
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
Updates from Mirjam
Good news. Because of your gifts ($479 in total) I made the first payment toward fitting and training sessions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
Quick update: $459 raised so far (16%). we've started the first stage. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
