I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Warsaw Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,350. My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,350 goes: • pair of hearing aids: $1,150 • Fitting and training sessions: $80 • Delivery and set-up: $35 • First-year servicing plan: $85 I hope life is good to you.
