Allison lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Edmonton Rehabilitation Centre has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,800. Her current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment Allison could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $4,800 goes: • pair of hearing aids: $4,100 • Fitting and training sessions: $310 • Delivery and set-up: $175 • First-year servicing plan: $215 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself. - Stella
