A mathematics tutor for Suren, 17, who's falling behind
Online or in-person tutoring in mathematics for a bright student in Johannesburg.
🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa443 views
My younger brother, Suren, is 17 and in Form 3. Suren loves school but mathematics has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The university entrance exam is in December.
We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Johannesburg or online, for about ten weeks.
Suren is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions.
If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in mathematics, you could change the course of Suren's year.
Glad we found this place.

Thinking of you and your family. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 21 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Sending love, Riaan. Shared it with a few friends. Don't give up. Love from Varanasi.
Best of luck. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Greetings from Campinas.
Wishing you peace, Riaan. This could happen to any of us. Love from Rockford.
