My niece, Payal, is 17 and in the final year of school. Payal loves school but mathematics has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The GCSE exam is in February. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Philadelphia or online, for about twelve weeks. Payal is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in mathematics, you could change the course of Payal's year. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

        • Thinking of you, Nisha. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Philadelphia!

          • Wishing you peace. Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Pune so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Philadelphia.
