Mercedes is working hard on mathematics but can't afford a tutor; 1 hours a week until the national would help enormously.

My niece, Mercedes, is 12 and in Year 10. Mercedes loves school but mathematics has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The national exam is in April. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Seattle or online, for about twenty weeks. Mercedes is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in mathematics, you could change the course of Mercedes's year. Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • take care. Looking forward to the next update. It's not much but it's yours.

    • Wishing you the best, Renata. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double

      • As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Kathmandu.

        • keep going, Renata. Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Put this on a community board in Zaria this morning. Thinking of Seattle
