A kind voice on the phone: Ruma's request
Ruma is housebound after a stroke and is looking for a friendly, patient person for a weekly call.

After a stroke, I have been mostly housebound for 12 weeks. My family live far away, and the days can feel very long. I'm not looking for therapy - I've that covered - but for conversation.
I'm hoping for someone who can call for about 30 minutes once a week whenever suits us both. I like music, books and gardening, and can listen to anything.
This can be from anywhere in the world as long as you speak English. We can arrange the calls through the platform, with email shared only when we're both comfortable.
Thanks for even thinking about it.
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thinking of you and your family. Hope this works out for you. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Thane.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Thane.
Keep going. Your post was clear and honest. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. All the best
