A kind voice on the phone: Nipa's request
Nipa is housebound after a long hospital stay and is looking for a friendly, patient person for a weekly call.

After a long hospital stay, I have been mostly housebound for 6 weeks. My family live far away, and the days can feel very long. I'm not looking for therapy - I've that covered - but for conversation.
I'm hoping for someone who can call for about 30 minutes once a week whenever suits us both. I like history, chess and quiz shows, and can listen to anything.
This can be from anywhere in the world as long as you speak English. We can arrange the calls through the platform, with email shared only when we're both comfortable.
Thanks for even thinking about it.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

wishing you the best. Shared this with my family. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too!
Sending strength, Nipa. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Lucknow.
hang in there, Nipa. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Take care
Thanks for sharing this. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Take care.
This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Thinking of Lucknow!
looking forward to the next update. Put this on a community board in Lafayette this morning.
