A fresh start in Sydney: help the Nguyen family resettle
Help a family of 6 start their new life in Sydney: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.

My family left Afghanistan 14 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Sydney. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in November.
I was a shopkeeper in Afghanistan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $4,900 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $2,050
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,450
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $590
• Language classes and bus passes: $580
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $230
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Praying for you, Silas. I hope things turn around soon. My husband and I read this together. Love from Cambridge.
Best of luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.
Thanks for sharing this, Silas. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. God bless.
Best of luck, Silas. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't give up.
Stay strong, Silas. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did.
keep going. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Pokhara so I could bring a meal. God bless.
