My family left Eritrea 7 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Sheffield. We're a family of six and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in October.
I was a shopkeeper in Eritrea, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Sheffield Refugee Support Network, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $3,250 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,600
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $690
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $340
• Language classes and bus passes: $530
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $90

Sure. The biggest one is rent deposit and first month, $1,600. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Fair thing to want to know.
