A fresh start in Savannah: help the Rahimi family resettle
After fleeing Sudan, the Rahimi family has arrived in Savannah with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Sudan 12 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Savannah. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in March.
I was an engineer in Sudan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by a local church-run settlement group, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,150
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,300
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $580
• Language classes and bus passes: $410
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $110
Thanks for reading all this.

Thinking of you and your family, Ian. Looking forward to the next update. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless
