After fleeing Ethiopia, the Petrenko family has arrived in Nottingham with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Ethiopia 8 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Nottingham. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in October. I was an electrician in Ethiopia, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $2,900 goes: • Rent deposit and first month: $1,450 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $750 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $340 • Language classes and bus passes: $210 • Phone and internet for school and job search: $150 Thanks for being kind about this. - Pamela
