A fresh start in Haarlem: help the Shevchenko family resettle
The Shevchenko family are rebuilding in Haarlem after leaving Syria; your gift pays for housing basics.

My family left Syria 8 months ago after we could no longer live safely. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Haarlem. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in September.
I was a farmer in Syria, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
Funds are managed by the Haarlem Refugee Support Network, a registered organization, which pays the landlord and suppliers on the family's behalf.
Where the $1,300 goes:
• Language classes and bus passes: $520
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $660
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $120
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sander.
It's all in the list in the story. language classes and bus passes is the big one at $520, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Appreciate you taking the time.
So sorry you're going through this, Sander. Hope this works out for you. Wish I lived closer to Buffalo so I could bring a meal. Greetings from Liverpool.
Is there anything that isn't money that would help Sander?
Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about language classes and bus passes, advice is welcome too. I'll keep the page updated.
Hope you get there. We're a small family in Chennai but we're thinking of you. God bless
You're not alone, Sander. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
So sorry you're going through this. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Tarragona but we're thinking of you.
