A French tutor for Sabine, 12, who's falling behind

Sabine is working hard on French but can't afford a tutor; 1 hours a week until the GCSE would help enormously.

My daughter, Sabine, is 12 and in Year 10. Sabine loves school but French has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The GCSE exam is in May. We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Hamburg or online, for about sixteen weeks. Sabine is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions. If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in French, you could change the course of Sabine's year. Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Wishing you peace. Hope this works out for you. Sent it to 24 people at work

      • Praying for you, Emilia. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too

        • So sorry you're going through this, Emilia. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Take care.

          • You're not alone. This could happen to any of us. After 17 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Thinking of Hamburg!
