A free library and reading room for the Freedom community hall: help our neighbors in Riverside

We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $2,900 for materials.

Riverside
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Freedom community hall, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,900. It will serve about 181 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,900 goes: • Materials: $1,800 • Permits and inspections: $320 • Safety equipment and signage: $330 • Tools hire and delivery: $450 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
