A day in the garden: help Julieta in Oakland
Julieta, 78, can no longer manage the yard after a storm; we're looking for helpers with chainsaws and rakes.
🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States1,158 views
I'm 78 and I have lived in this house in Oakland for 50 years. After the storm in August, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of arthritis.
The council has told me it will be eight weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner.
Help needed: someone with a chainsaw, plus a few people with rakes and gloves. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do.
Thank you so much.

Sending good thoughts, Julieta. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. After 24 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Minneapolis
