I'm 71 and I have lived in this house in Auckland for 40 years. After the storm in June, two large branches and a fallen fence have blocked the back door and the garden path. I can no longer manage them myself because of arthritis. The council has told me it will be ten weeks before they can send someone. I'd feel much safer if it were cleared sooner. Help needed: a small team to cut, stack and carry away branches. I'll provide tea, sandwiches and the green waste bags. A few hours will do. You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Love from Sheffield.

Keep going, Harold. It takes guts to ask. Well done. God bless.

      • You're not alone. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My brother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home!

        • Sending love. Hope you get there. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. All the best.

          • Hope things get better soon, Harold. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in teaching myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best.
