A covered market stall space for the Union vacant lot: help our neighbors in Leicester

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $850. It will serve about 363 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $850 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $240 • Permits and inspections: $240 • Safety equipment and signage: $370 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
