A covered market stall space for the Sycamore community hall: help our neighbors in San Francisco
Volunteers in San Francisco are raising $3,100 for a covered market stall space at the Sycamore community hall.
🇺🇸 San Francisco, California, United States495 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,100.
It will serve about 163 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Materials: $2,000
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Safety equipment and signage: $500
• Tools hire and delivery: $330
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
