A covered market stall space: a volunteer-led effort in Santos
Volunteers in Santos are raising $850 for a covered market stall space at the Lotus health centre yard.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $850.
It will serve about 113 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $850 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $135
• Tools hire and delivery: $180
• Materials: $535
Thank you so much.

Looking forward to the next update. We're a small family in Bangkok but we're thinking of you
Thinking of you and your family. Looking forward to the next update. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Santos.
Hope it all works out. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Thinking of Santos.
