A computer science tutor for Cathal, 12, who's falling behind
Looking for a patient computer science tutor, 3 hours a week, for 23 weeks.
🇮🇪 Cork, Munster, Ireland1,251 views
My younger brother, Cathal, is 12 and in the final year of school. Cathal loves school but computer science has been a struggle since the school was closed during the strikes. The national exam is in February.
We can't afford a private tutor, and the school's free sessions are full. We're looking for a volunteer who could spend one or two hours a week, in person in Cork or online, for about twelve weeks.
Cathal is polite, hardworking and eager. We have a quiet space and a laptop for online sessions. I'll always be at home for in-person sessions.
If you're a teacher, student or professional who feels comfortable in computer science, you could change the course of Cathal's year.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Stay strong. This could happen to any of us. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Sending good thoughts. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Love from Gwagwalada.
Thinking of you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Cork.
You're not alone, Aisling. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Greetings from Accra
Take care, Aisling. Gave what I could, wish it was more. It's not much but it's yours.
