A community garden for the old Acacia bus depot: help our neighbors in Gondar
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $400 for materials.
🇪🇹 Amhara, Ethiopia596 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 579 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $50
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
• Materials: $310
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.
