A community garden for the Maple community hall: help our neighbors in Lafayette
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $1,850 for materials.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,850.
It will serve about 361 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,850 goes:
• Materials: $1,400
• Safety equipment and signage: $210
• Permits and inspections: $240
