A community garden for the Baobab vacant lot: help our neighbors in Contagem
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a community garden - we need $550 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Baobab vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 356 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $350
• Safety equipment and signage: $145
• Tools hire and delivery: $55
